A day out to Scheveningen Beach
Scheveningen is small village along the North Sea side offering a wide sandy beach stretching out for several kilometres. Only a few minutes away by public
transport from The Hague main train station. All year round it is a wonderful place to be. Whether with a glass of Chardonnay lazing on a couch in the sun or
wearing a warm jacket and enjoying the fresh breeze in the blowing wind. Scheveningen is a popular place and offers a wide range of restaurants, beach bars,
exciting nightlife, the Holland Casino, the characteristic old Kurhaus Hotel, an XXL cinema, the famous SeaWorld, an indoor shopping centre and a long
walking boulevard along the beach.
In summer from July to September at many beach bars club nights with a DJ can be enjoyed during the weekends. In colder winter times Scheveningen is
also a beloved place for the Dutch, to take a long walk in the fresh air, take the dog for a walk or relax and enjoy an afternoon tea in the winter sun behind a
windscreen on a beach terrace. A must-do is to try the delicious fried fish called “Kibbeling” which is sold at numerous places.
