One thing we certainly get enough of in Europe
in winter is snow. There are parts of France,
Spain, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Germany
that attract many visitors each winter for their
excellent ski resorts and great skiing grounds.
Discover Europe offers a selection of snow
adventures that are easily combined with an
itinerary.

The resorts vary from picturesque villages to
touristic villages with lots of hotels. Some
hotels will offer excursions to other nearby
villages and surroundings. Most visitors come
for a few days of skiing or snowboarding,
enjoying the winter wonderland and a cozy
ambiance in restaurants, shops and lively ski-
huts (lively bars).  Skiing or snowboarding
equipment or half day skiing classes can be
arranged. There are skiing grounds for all
levels, beginning or experienced.
When going on a snow holiday temperatures
are very cold and below 0 degrees, which
makes it essential that you prepare and
adjust your clothing for this type of cold. It is
recommended that you bring an extra pair of
gloves (they will get wet from snow) and wear
extra layers of clothing especially being on
the ski ground for a few hours. There is snow
and ice all around which will make roads,
streets and steps slippery. Caution and a
good travel insurance is recommended at all
times. The best months to enjoy your winter
sports holiday in Europe are from December
till March. Depending on the first snowfall and
climate changes.
